An expert in immunology, Thomas LAVAL is a patent attorney.

Trained as an engineer at AgroParisTech, he also holds a PhD in Immunology from the Institut Pasteur, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Canada. He has developed expertise in cell biology and lipid metabolism within the contexts of host-pathogen interactions and cardiovascular inflammation.

Thomas joined the Intellectual Property field by becoming part of ICOSA’s Biotech/Biology/Techbio team in 2025 as a Patent Engineer. He supports startups in drafting patents and managing grant procedures before the EPO and INPI.
